We hope you are having a wonderful summer and that you and your families and friends are enjoying some rest, warm sun and fun gatherings!

These first photos are from Fr Maria Joseph’s visit to the Bay Area. Father shared his joy and his message of hope for the Santal children at a variety of events. But, of course, we also took time to visit some local sites like Mt Tam, Blackie’s Pasture, and Robert Mondavi’s tasting room in Oakville.

By openly sharing his own experience of being the first in his agricultural family and village to receive higher education, Father was able to drive home the urgency and desperate desire for education. His life is an example of the change that is possible through one person–change that affects many people, a village, many generations. Thanks to each of YOU, we are already making that real change happen in Gurap!

The next set of photos…The heat and the rains have shut down schools in the Gurap area, but because our children board at St Xavier’s, learning is able to continue. Still, the children took time off to cool down and play in the water, and took advantage of the rain to plant new trees. Notice the murals on the walls–the children and our beloved volunteer from Germany, Bennett, created the murals. Thanks to YOU, the campus grows more beautiful every day.

The fourth set of photos…Whenever the weather is not a factor, construction continues. All is on track for the first 9th grade class to begin in the new building, in January.

One thing we noticed from the thank you notes we received this year–the children are dreaming new dreams and they have more specific plans. Before the high school was real, the children couldn’t dream about something they didn’t even know was a possibility. Thanks to YOU, the possibilities are growing daily.
