What impels you to support Tribe Rising? And why should other people care about what Tribe Rising is doing?

I believe all kids no matter their birthplace deserve a chance and that is what Tribe Rising is doing for the kids of Gurap. It takes a village to raise a child so I believe it’s our responsibility to be that village for kids around the world. 

Was there someone or something in high school that influenced you as a student, or set you on a career path?

I graduated a semester early from high school and went to Costa Rica to work in an orphanage. While there, I realized how working with vulnerable kids at such a young age can truly change the trajectory of their future. It was during this trip that I felt called to do work with kids in some capacity whether it was in my career or daily life. 

What was the best trip you have ever taken? 

Traveling to Italy, Croatia and Slovenia was probably the best trip I’ve ever taken. Having family in Slovenia made that visit even more special – would love to go back sometime soon!  

What is the best book you have read in the past 12 months?

Educated

What is one thing you’d like to share with the Gurap students?

Always follow your dreams even if they seem too far out of reach. You can do anything you put your mind to.
