Dear Friends,
Construction is underway on the kitchen and dining hall, and we’re thrilled to see another vision coming to life on the Gurap campus! This two-story building will soon be the heart of the Gurap campus: a place for students to gather, meals to be shared and dreams to take root. It will also house teachers, Jesuit administrators and accommodations for visitors and volunteers.
Everyone Blesses the Work
The photos below are from the May 4 blessing ceremony. Gurap ceremonies are always a harmonious combination of cultural and spiritual expression, and of course, a reason for celebration! School leaders and teachers, religious and parents, student leaders and children from all age groups, and even the contractors and their family members placed a shovel full of ceremonial dirt into the representative foundation. It was more than a ritual—it was a promise that this building belongs to everyone.

This year’s proceeds will build on the incredible $200,000 grant received last fall and our 2024 gala donations—leaving just under $300,000 to complete this keystone building!
