St Xavier Gurap Exams Show that Students are ready for High School! The photos above show top students being awarded luxury pens as proud teachers and a packed house of parents look on!

Last Saturday when parents arrived to pick up their children for vacation, there was a school-wide celebration for the students who scored at the top of their grade-level exams. This recognition of the students’ hard work comes right as we–and they–are gearing up for Gurap’s first high school class!

Thanks to YOUR support, we know that EACH child will be able to stay on for more education, building up the skills to take on even greater challenges.

This year’s gala will support needs ranging from biology and physics labs and more specialty teachers, to proper maps and an art room! Every dollar goes a long way toward purchasing the resources for a brighter future for these hardworking students!

The students’ 10-day vacation is because of the beautiful feast of Durga Puja, which celebrates the victory of the goddess Durga.The festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil and is in part a harvest festival that celebrates the motherly power behind all of life and creation.
