2020 Virtual Gala – Moving Forward with Hope

Thursday, August 25th at the Corinthian Yacht Club

All around us, our world is struggling with a need for change on every front. We cannot wish our way into good health, justice, equality, or more peace. We can’t choose the same patterns, the same words anymore; we need to do hard things. We need all the charity, love and grace we can summon for ourselves and for each other. Now, more than ever, we need to choose hope—we need to do something to make the outcomes we intend or want.

And so, we are moving forward. We are pleased to announce the Tribe Rising India 2020 Virtual Gala. Last year’s event was packed with joyful energy as we celebrated the amazing Gurap students together. This year’s gala will look different but we still need YOU to make it fun and successful. We are committed, and we ask you to join us in creating real change.

The COVID-19 virus will not threaten us forever, but the disproportionate burden and effects of the resulting economic instability on poor and marginalized children will continue far beyond the end of this crisis. Educational opportunities, especially for girls, are at great risk. You can help Tribe Rising India provide the resources the Santal students need to thrive and grow.

We need your help to make Thursday, September 17th an evening of hope for the Santal children.

  • Marin and San Francisco residents may purchase event tickets here. Delicious Indian meals will be delivered directly to your home. You may even want to consider a small gathering of your social bubble—create your own safe party. Then log on for the virtual fun!

  • We need event sponsors. If you or your business are able to step up, your support is the foundation for our fundraising success and helps us build momentum to increase our reach. Please see support us here.

  • Join us on September 17th and donate to the Fund a Need – help us ensure that construction of the new school in Gurap continues.

  • Our non-Bay Area friends and supporters can now meaningfully participate by joining the live event online.

During the next few months, the journey for our Gurap students will continue away from school—but our efforts now will ensure that as soon as it is safe and healthy—we can welcome our students back to a new girl’s dormitory and a modern high school.

We can show our students that while they are hidden in their villages, far from the news headlines, they are not forgotten. We can show them we still believe…

Hope is for everyone.
