Fill the high school! This modern facility opened February 2024 and will give 1,200 Santal students the education they need to compete in the mainstream economy. Student scholarships help provide education to the maximum number of students possible.
Construct a new residence to lodge additional teachers, counselors and visitors/volunteers.
Complete roads, fill labs, expand the kitchen and furnish a fully-equipped school
Thanks to our generous donors, Tribe Rising India has already completed the first girls’ dormitory, ensuring girls over age 10 can continue receiving a safe, quality education.
We have also provided additional staff, new teachers and a school counselor!
And we are just getting started! Gurap is the model for expanding educational opportunities to Santal students in other areas, like Chamrusai and Bankura.

A Letter From the Founder and President
Dear Friends,
Our Santal students are thriving! Our mission is flourishing—we are bringing hope and real change to
the Santal community. Generosity has turned high-quality, safe, and consistent education from a
dream into a reality.
Tribe Rising India turned 5 in 2024. When we started out, we couldn’t have imagined we’d build a
girls’ dormitory, a modern school for 1,200 students, and grow our student body by more than 450
students in just five years – all while navigating an unprecedented global pandemic.
We couldn’t have imagined it, because St Xavier’s School Gurap, wouldn’t have happened without
the support of our generous and dedicated donors.
We are not just building structures. Together we are transforming social landscapes with life-
changing education that honors the dignity of all people. Our donors believe in our dream, and we
ensure that every dollar spent aligns with our shared values and directly benefits our students.

It has been an especially busy Spring in Gurap. Our 11th graders returned from their English intensive in Burdwan, the first national exam results are in (all students passed!), and construction on the dining hall continues.
